Important

All coaching sessions require preparation to be submitted before booking is confirmed. The relevant worksheet or workbook must be completed and uploaded via the Calendly intake form. Sessions where preparation has not been submitted will be rescheduled.

How to Use This Programme

Content unlocks weekly from your enrolment date. Work through each lesson in sequence — the programme is structured deliberately and each phase builds on the last. Complete the workbook or worksheet for each lesson before moving forward. Book coaching sessions as prompted — do not leave them to the end of a module.

Maintain your CPD log on myAPC from the moment your registration is confirmed. Every entry should reference a competency and reflect on how the learning affected your practice.

APC Readiness Audit Workbook
Complete all four sections before your Week 1 Diagnostic Session. Upload the completed workbook via the Calendly booking form in Lesson 1.4.
Before you begin

This audit takes approximately 90 minutes to complete properly. Work through it in one sitting. Be honest — an amber that you record as green is a referral risk, not a confidence boost. The purpose of this document is to identify exactly where the coaching work needs to be concentrated.

Section 1 — Competency Mapping

For each competency below, rate your current readiness using the RAG scale:

Green — I have clear evidence and can articulate it confidently at the required level.
Amber — I have the experience but I am not yet sure how to frame it correctly for an assessor.
Red — I have limited evidence or have not encountered this in practice.

Section 2 — Mandatory Competency Evidence Check

For each mandatory competency, write a specific example from a real project where the competency was relevant to a decision you made or advice you gave. One sentence is sufficient — the purpose is to confirm the example exists, not to draft the full answer here.

Health and Safety — specific example
Write here…
E.g. "On the [project], I advised the project team on CDM 2015 Principal Designer obligations following a scope change that introduced new significant risks."
Sustainability — specific example

E.g. "On the [project], I included whole-life cost analysis in the cost plan to support the client's decision between two façade specifications with different maintenance profiles."

Section 3 — Experience Timeline

List your roles below. For each role, note the competencies it provides evidence for and the level that evidence supports. Focus on your most recent five years — these are your primary evidence sources.

Section 4 — Referral Risk Assessment

Identify your three highest referral risks — the competencies or areas where an assessor could put you under questioning pressure and you would currently struggle to respond at the required level.

Referral Risk 1

Name the competency and describe why it is a risk — lack of evidence, difficulty articulating at Level 3, limited recent experience, etc.
